“The Lord your God is in your midst, a victorious warrior. He will rejoice over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.”
Zephaniah 3:17 (NASB)
Series Focus: “Through His Eyes”
Is there someone in your life whom you treasure? The relationship you have established is priceless. The intimacy shared, irreplaceable. Think of that person… Are there any limits to your love? Is there anything, within your own limitations, you wouldn’t do for her or him?
As your mind settles on this special one, your heart swells with gratefulness and adoration. You couldn’t—and wouldn’t ever want to—imagine life without this person. So precious. Cherished. Beloved.
Do you realize that is how God sees you? The prophet, Isaiah, wrote:
Since you are precious in My sight, since you are honored and I love you, I will give other people in your place and other nations in exchange for your life. (Isaiah 43:4 NASB)
The Psalmist understood very well who he was in the eyes and mind of God. Psalm 139:17-18 NASB says:
How precious also are Your thoughts for me, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.
God never stops thinking about you! He knows every hair on your head. He holds you in the palm of His hands. He inscribes your name on His hand. He sings over you—honors you—rejoices over you. He loves you relentlessly…forever. Why?
Genesis 1 teaches us we are made in the very image of God. If we read further in Isaiah 43, verse 7 says God has created us for His glory. Throughout the New Testament, we witness how God gave His Son to rescue us and reconcile us to Him. Jesus died for us so we could be reunited with Him. In 1 Corinthians 6:19 and 2 Corinthians 6:16, Paul encourages us that we are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.
You are precious in the Father’s eyes because He created you to be His image-bearer, a display of His glory in the earth, united with Him for eternity as His child, and a carrier of His presence! He treasures you and desires intimate fellowship with you. There are no limits to His love for you. Invaluable. Cherished. Adored. Precious. That’s who you are to God.
Holding Fast to Hope,
Maryann
